After testing dozens of gourd varieties, I selected just one to use in every piece I make.
With urushi lacquer, each gourd is suitable for whiskey and warm drinks—simple to use and easy to care for every day.

About Urushi
Urushi is a natural, food-safe lacquer made from the sap of the lacquer tree. Used for thousands of years, it is one of the most durable finishes for wood, enhancing its natural beauty.

I use only natural dyes—so the palette stays true to red, black, and brown.

You may notice a mild natural scent from the Urushi at first. It will gradually fade with use.
Before First Use
It’s normal to see small particles during the first rinse — simply rinse them away.
Before first use, fill the gourd with strong tea or high-proof alcohol (such as vodka) and let it sit for 24 hours. Repeat if necessary to reduce the natural lacquer scent. The scent will gradually fade with use.
Afterward, rinse thoroughly and allow the gourd to air dry in a well-ventilated place.

Safety Notes
To help your gourd last, always twist the stopper gently when inserting or removing it — avoid pulling it straight out.
For daily use, we recommend liquids below 140°F (60°C). If using boiling water, leave the stopper off and let it cool before sealing.
Cleaning & Care
For daily cleaning, simply rinse with water and let your gourd air dry.
For a deeper clean, once dry, add a small amount of coarse salt and shake gently.
For occasional sanitizing, a little high-proof alcohol works well.
Occasionally apply a little food-grade oil to the exterior to help maintain its natural finish.
When not in use, store your gourd in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place with the stopper removed.

The item is unused and in its original condition
The item is not customized or made to order
Because each piece is handcrafted, natural variations in size, shape, or finish are part of the handmade process and are not considered defects.

How to Start a Return
Please contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos (if applicable), and we will guide you through the return process.
Return Shipping
Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the item arrives damaged or incorrect. Original shipping fees, where applicable, are non-refundable.
Refunds
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 3–5 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item.

I received the product not too long ago and honestly is one of my best purchases. The quality of the carvings and the gourd itself got me genuinely speechless and it is something that I will cherish for a very long time. The gourd water bottle was shipped to me much sooner than I expected and it came in good condition. It works well and I was originally skeptical towards its capacity but it holds up. I love the charms and net pouch, and while it took me some time to originally put everything on, ive quickly gotten better. Maintenance is not hard either.
I could tell this gourd was created by a family with much love. Pouch woven by the mother, gourd lined and engraved by the father, and customer interfacing done through the offspring - a perfect trio of harmony shines true with the art they create. I love the gourd I purchased from them.
Purchased a red gourd with custom engraving. Had the air nomad symbol from Avatar the last Airbender engraved on it and was very happy with how it all turned out. I followed the directions and soaked some tea in it for a full day and have been using it ever since! I also purchased a strap so I pretty much bring this gourd everywhere I go. It's nice to stay hydrated and people have often stopped me in the streets asking "what is that thing you're carrying - is there a genie inside??" When I tell them it's a gourd filled with water everyone always says how cool it is and how it seems straight out of a movie. Amazing craftsmanship. 11/10
