I finish each gourd by hand with traditional urushi lacquer, so it’s naturally suited for whiskey or warm drinks.

The lacquer creates a durable, waterproof surface, so it’s easy to use and care for every day.

I handcraft each gourd with care — I hope it brings a special vibe to your everyday moments!

  • You may notice a mild natural scent from the Urushi at first. It will gradually fade with use.

Care & Cleaning

  1. For daily cleaning, simply rinse with water and let your gourd air dry.
  2. For a deeper clean, once dry, add a small amount of rice or coarse salt and shake gently.
  3. For occasional sanitizing, high-proof alcohol works well.
  4. Occasionally apply a little food-grade oil to the exterior to help maintain its natural finish.

First Use

  1. It’s normal to see a few tiny particles during the first rinse — simply rinse them away.
  2. Before drinking, fill the gourd with strong tea or high-proof alcohol (such as vodka) and let it sit for a few hours. This helps the natural lacquer scent fade more quickly. The scent will fade with use.
  3. Afterward, rinse thoroughly and allow the gourd to air dry in a well-ventilated place.

Safety Notes

  1. To help your gourd last, always twist the stopper gently when inserting or removing it — avoid pulling it straight out.
  2. For daily use, we recommend using liquids below 140°F (60°C). If you pour boiling water into the gourd, leave the stopper off and let it cool before sealing.
  3. When not in use, store your gourd in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place with the cork removed.

Each piece is carefully handcrafted and inspected before it leaves our hands. Please allow 1–3 business days for us to prepare your order.

If something doesn’t feel quite right, we’re happy to help. Returns or exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery, provided that:

  • The item is unused and in its original condition

  • The item is not customized or made to order

Because each piece is handcrafted, natural variations in size, shape, or finish are part of the handmade process and are not considered defects.

How to Start a Return

Please contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos (if applicable), and we will guide you through the return process.

Return Shipping

Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the item arrives damaged or incorrect.
Original shipping fees, where applicable, are non-refundable.

Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 3–5 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item.
